Delivery Management System (DRMS) |
The Delivery Restaurant Management System (DRMS) is another software package that can be used to manage your store's information. In some ways it is similar to RMS but in other ways it is different. One of the main differences between RMS and DRMS is that DRMS caters for delivery orders. This allows the storing of customer details and all delivery records for quicker service of customers. It is an ideal system for chains such as Pizza Restaurants.
The DRMS is made up of three components. These components are Back Of Store, System Functions and Front Of Store.
The Back Of Store section of the system is a management orientated menu structure. It has been designed to assist managers of all levels to complete their necessary day-to-day tasks in relation to money and stock control within the store. Some of the functions the menus provide are:
* Keeping control of incoming and outgoing food and paper stock. * Registering all transactions in relation to sales and monies on the system. * Logging of current employees' hours worked. * Consolidation of sales at the end of the days trade. * Creation and maintenance of products sold by the store. * Control of the current day workings of the point of sale system. * Handling of data to and from Head Office.
System Functions handles management utilities and any functions that servicemen may need to maintain your system. As a store manager or user of the DRMS the servicemen menus will be unavailable, as only support personnel will have access to these functions. Some of the functions of the System Functions management utilities are:
* Manipulating order takers, Front Of Store and training sessions. * Redirecting printers and the viewing of held reports. * Testing hardware (printers, order takers), cables and connections. * Controlling the store's modem functions. * Setting up manager's pin number for system security. * Shutting down the system. * Viewing the system's end of day, error and menu option logs.
The Front Of Store manages the point of sale transactions, food preparation and deliveries. Some of the functions of the Front Of Store are:
* Entry of order and customer details at the order taker. * Displaying of orders to be made on the makeline screen. * Printing orders on the receipt printer either directly after the order was taken or after being bumped from the makeline screen. * Displaying customer pickup orders on the customer display. * Showing driver availability on the makeline screens. * Controlling the signing out and signing in of delivery orders on the Driver Sign-Out Pad.
