Restaurant Management System (RMS) |
The Java Restaurant Management System developed by STM offers an easy and efficient way to run and control the operations in a store. The JRMS offers a Point of Sale, Back of Store, Email and Office Suite in the Red Hat Operating System Environment.
The JRMS uses standard order taking facilities along with "preparation" and "packing" screens throughout the store to assist in the display of the orders for the kitchen and also the front counter staff.
The JRMS allows the tracking and monitoring of current day orders. This can be in the form of viewing sales summaries for the day. It also allows the viewing of Speed of Service times and individual orders taken for the day. There is also a Thumbs Up/Down screen which displays a number of details on the current day's trading including sales, speed of service, crew levels and production levels in a graphical environment. Production levels are a method of monitoring how busy the store is and the amount of products that should be pre-made and placed in the chutes. There is also the facility to track wastage in the store, either the raw waste or the complete product waste. The RMS also offers a secure method of tracking the flow of cash throughout the store.
Stock Control and Ordering is a large part of the JRMS. There are a number of options to control and monitor the stock in the store. This includes functions to enter waste and report on both stock levels used and the current stock levels. There is also a useful feature to view a percentage amount of the stock that is actually being recorded in the store. This is called "Food Yield". Orders can also be automatically calculated for the coming week based on previous sales figures and the projected budget. Deliveries of orders and transfers from other stores can also be stored by the system.
A range of functions relating to employees are available. Many details of the employee's can be stored including bank account details and birth dates. The system can automatically update the employee's pay rates when occasions like birthdays occur. A large number of reports can be viewed based on employee's such as employee performance reports and roster reports.
The End of Day program, when run will convert the data from the current day's trading into the History area for storage. This data can then be summarized by using the large number of reports available that can display data on everything from gross sales to the amount of products being wasted. A large number of logs are also available in the JRMS. This allows the tracking and monitoring of any problems that may occur in your store.
The JRMS allows great flexibility in the use of hardware in a store. Stores can be set up as either a network system using "network termteks" or PC's or set up serially using "serial termteks" with PCI or ISA cards. The JRMS order taker software can support a large range of hardware devices from low-end to high-end units. This covers text based, graphical and touch screen units or a mix. The software is very flexible in regards to what can be used as the devices in the system.
The JRMS also has the ability to have all or some of the store's data maintained centrally from a Head Office or they can be maintained locally with the setting of appropriate JRMS switches. Head Office can control the movement of data to and from stores, including prices, recipes, products and component maintenance. Collecting of the store data can also be set automatically for convenience or regular reporting.
The JRMS system is also very secure, as a number of logs can be used to track who accessed the system and what options have they used.
